Endaro Mahanubhavulu...Andariki Vandanamulu

This is a beautiful composition by Saint Tyagaraja. It is in Telugu like many of his compositions. It is set to Sri ragam and Adi talam. I cannot get the song out of my head (though it doesn't seem like I want to). It's an enthralling piece. Scintillating really.

Here is the meaning (from Shivkumar Kalyanaraman)

Endaro Mahanubhavulu

Andariki Vandanamulu

Endaro mahaanubhavulu: There are many great men

Andariki: To all

Vandanamulu: Namaskarams

[Meaning: My namaskarams to all those great men who have attained dizzy heights in their spiritual experience and who have lived in all the ages.]

The entire meaning is available here. It helped me enjoy the song more.

"These great men keep the shape and form of the lord, who has attained bliss and power of the yoga in their lotus like heart and derive great happiness" (lord here is Rama Chandra)....i dont if i completely agree with the meaning here though

Sri ragam is so melodious. Have you heard this one? It's one of my favourites, along with Sahana, Saveri, Charukesi, Amritavarshini....I could go on and on! :D
